Nicolas Africano

Nicolas Africano will be featured in a solo exhibition presenting new sculpture, painting, and drawings. These works are about human experience, therefore subject matter is of primary concern. The figures in his work reflect the artist's personal experiences, events from childhood, and collectively represent “every man.” Africano’s depictions of androgynous beings, casted in glass, arise as delicate, contemplative, and crystalline idols. His works are included in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Milwaukee Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
