Judith Kindler - "Leaving Traces on Venice’s Storied Walls"

Inspired by her love of Venice, Italy, Judith Kindler captures various images of graffiti, language, texture, icons, and architecture - all found while exploring the ancient city. Through Kindler’s discerning lens, these visuals are re-contextualized and layered with her own iconography to create original compositions. Kindler invites us to take a closer look at the beauty of the surfaces around us and employ our imagination to discover the hidden stories within ourselves. This new series of mixed media work explores the concept of mark making and its symbolism, particularly elements that are contradictory, spontaneous, or even humorous.
